Life is funny, my wife gave birth of a 7.2 pound baby three weeks ago and yesterday I was cleaning my basement and removing some dust from a pile of old board games when I dropped one of them... It was the game of life board game half crushed on the floor with all the kids rolling left and right. Ah, I wished I was a doctor. It's been a very very long time since I played the game of life (reason why dust was stacking up on the box) and was curious to find out if this board game was still fun 15 years later. So just to refresh some memories here's a couple of things you should remember about the board game called "The game of life" of simply "Life" (for french people, "Destin").

So let's start with a game of life flashback





The first thing to remember is the way we were choosing a career. The choice was made right from the beginning and luck was a big factor to decide how much money you would make each pay day. Not much "The Game Of Life" strategy here. A very simple choice, one of two route, the first giving you $12000 per pay day and the second offering a chance to win up to $50000. I don't remember the complete list of career, but doctor was one of them for sure.

The second thing to remember are those little card your could use to have another Life player pay your debts or have him give you half is pay day cash. Another card was used to block a player from using one of the two card on you.

The third thing to remember in game of life board game are those events where you get married, you have children and buy a house.

Ok, now the fun stuff about the game of life is coming. How to make the more money?!

Remember Insurance (fire, life and automobile) and stock certificate? Those were the best items to make a lot of money. Some spot on the life game board were only available to step on when you had those insurance and stock certificate. You had to gamble sometimes to make a lot of money out of your stock certificate. Without insurance, you could go straight to bankruptcy.


Another way of making money was to gamble on the "Lucky Day" spots. You could place two 10k bill on two different number (from 1 to 10) on the Life board. You would turn the wheel to try getting those number and winning big Life money.

The last thing in game of life board game and you probably remember that part, is trying to finish the game has a milionnaire. You could put all your eggs in the same basket (a bet on a number of the game board) and try to do a final win all lose all spin. The other option was to rest until the other player finishes their Life, betting on the fact that you were probably the game of life player with the most money. In which case you would be the winner of the Life game.

Reopening the game of life board game box was definitely good memories and I hope one day my kids will play this game to! I took a look on the web to see what was going on with this classic board game and I was suprised to find out that the game of life board game made some babies to! In my next post I will describe the result of my searches of the game of Life.

The title says it all, this new series of post will answer this simple question: how do you play clue the board game ? Clue was one of my favorite game. I was always drive by the curiosity of checking the clue cards hidden in the envelope under the clue board game. For some strange reasons, I was also excited to have Miss Scarlet's clue card in my hand... The clue game arena or more commonly known has Tudor's Mansion, is the house where Mr. John Boddy was found dead. At the time of the crime, a bunch of people (the suspects) where in this mansion and one of them did the unthinkable!
